After three days at the World Expo, what stayed with our founder, Elsie Ocran, wasn't only the products and ideas on display. It was the people behind them.
A room full of builders
Across the Expo, Elsie connected with people from every part of Ghana's industrial and entrepreneurial world: from the Vice President of Ghana to business founders, young entrepreneurs, farmers, creatives, media professionals and institutions.
One of the most meaningful connections was with Safia Pagsung, whom Elsie works with closely. Safia's women-led shea cooperative shows how local resources, knowledge and enterprise can create products, livelihoods and opportunities for women and their communities. It's the kind of partnership GGLOW is built on.

Elsie was also inspired by:
- Maltiti Sayida Sadick, the GBC media personality who chaired the programme and brought people and conversations together
- Abukari Karimu of CAMFED and the Parent Support Group, who highlighted the importance of community support
- Jabanyita Samuel Abdulai, whose work in rice production shows the opportunities in Ghana's agricultural value chain
- Hamidatu, a young entrepreneur turning ideas into businesses and solutions
Quality builds trust
One lesson stood out. Elsie met with Ghana's Food and Drugs Authority, and the conversation reinforced something she takes seriously: building strong Ghanaian products takes creativity, but it also takes quality, standards, safety, knowledge and trust.
For a skincare brand, that matters. The products you put on your skin should be made with care and checked properly, wherever they come from. It's a standard GGLOW holds itself to, from the cooperative to your bathroom shelf.
What Made-in-Ghana can be

Seeing so many products created by Ghanaian founders was, for Elsie, a powerful reminder of what's possible when people believe in their own ideas, resources and talent.
As she wrote after the Expo: "Behind every product is a story. Behind every business is a founder. Behind every innovation is knowledge. And behind every thriving ecosystem are relationships that help people move forward."
She left more convinced than ever that industrial development isn't only about factories and production. It's about people, talent, knowledge, collaboration and creating opportunities for one another.
What it means for you
GGLOW is proudly rooted in Ghana. When you choose our shea butter, you're supporting a network of women-led cooperatives, farmers and founders who are showing the world what Made-in-Ghana can be.
